Where does this food come from and why is it priced so low?

FoodMaven believes in fighting food waste by selling high quality products that make an impact! In order to reduce the 40% of perfectly good food that is thrown into landfills each year, we rescue oversupply, local, and out of spec products that otherwise would have been lost in the system. We then put them through a rigorous quality assurance process. This allows us to pass on great savings to you on high quality products, whole helping our suppliers and local producers regain lost revenue.

What are oversupply, out of spec, local, and everyday products?

In order to reduce food waste, we rescue oversupply, local, and out of spec products that otherwise would have been lost in the system. Oversupply products means it was overproduced, over-ordered, or in less demand. Product didn't meet a specific cosmetic, packaging, or dating requirement is considered out of spec. By selling local products we can help local farmers, ranchers, and producers reach more consumers. Our everyday products are sourced to be always available as a convenience to our customers.

Why are products sold in large quantities?

As a foodservice distributor for restaurants and institutional kitchens, most of our products are in bulk packaging. This isn't always household friendly, so we are doing our best to offer smaller portions to you! Most of our products are great for a family, sharing with roommates, or splitting it up with family/friends, but please adhere to current social distancing guidelines.

Can I return a product if there is a quality issue?

All of our products go through a safety assurance process before we sell it. If there is a quality issue, we will refund you after validation by our customer service team.

What safety precautions do you have in place as a response to COVID-19?

The safety of our employees, customers, and communities is our top-most priority. We are doing everything we can to reduce risk and make our transactions hands-free. For more information, please visit our blog.
